        independent music.

They're good at finding simple factoids...
-- What's the capital of Albania?
-- What are the symptoms of gout?
...But they're just computer algorithms.
-- How can an algorithm tell what's a moving song, or an insightful piece of writing?
-- They assess quality based on how many other web pages link to an item.
-- A currently unknown song by definition won't have many pages linked to it.
Even Google now recognizes the importance of human judgment.
-- They've created Google +1 to let people recommend things to their friends.
-- It's currently unclear whether enough people will switch to Google's new social
network for this service to succeed.
