Playlists & other sets of favorites provide basic structure--
but often not of the most useful kind.
Multiple recommendations are easier to find when they're in a common place... ...but groupings are not often oriented toward what other people might be looking for. -- "Jarred's Favorites, Part III" really only identifies the recommender. -- How does that help if you're looking for some good dance music for a party? -- What if you want a new song that will touch your wife on your wedding anniversary? To be truly useful, recommendations need to include: -- A content characteristic or category (e.g., "Music You've Got to Move To") PLUS -- The name of the person making the recommendation.
